Meet Carla Pooran
Welcome, I'm Carla Pooran, founder of SkinRenewal Clinic in Colchester, Essex, and a passionate advocate for long-term skin health, barrier repair, and expert-led skincare that delivers visible, lasting results.
With 25 years of hands-on experience in the beauty and aesthetics industry, I've dedicated my career to helping people feel confident in their skin.
I've worked at some of the UK's most prestigious clinics, including the renowned Woodford Medical Clinic in London's Harley Street and an award-winning flagship clinic here in Essex. Along the way, I've worked with high-profile clients, beauty editors, journalists and bloggers - many of whom regularly feature the results of the treatments I provided.
I was also fortunate to train under Dr Carl Thornfeldt, one of the top dermatologists in the US. His pioneering approach to skin barrier repair (Corneotherapy) completely shaped my philosophy on skincare. Treating the skin barrier first is the foundation of everything I do, and it’s why my clients achieve long-term, visible results.
I completed both CIBTAC Level 4 qualifications in 2026. With regulation of the aesthetics industry tightening, I wanted to be certain that every treatment I offer is delivered to the highest recognised standard of safety, clinical judgement and expertise. CIBTAC is an internationally respected awarding body.
As someone who personally struggled with acne throughout my teenage years throughout my teenage years and into adulthood, I know first-hand just how deeply our skin can affect our self-confidence. This isn't just my work. It's my passion, my purpose, and something I truly understand.

Why I Started SkinRenewal Clinic
After years of building a client base and training other professionals, including doctors, nurses and aesthetic therapists, I followed my lifelong dream and launched SkinRenewal Clinic in 2020.
